Vintage Mayer China Lidded Jam Jar Handpainted Beaver Falls,PA 1965

A Vintage Mayer China  Ware lidded jam jar with silver colored spoon.  Handpainted and the stamp on the bottom with the number 465 translate to  1965 . The company was founded in 1881 by the Mayer Brothers, whose father had been a potter in England.  The company became one of the major producers of restaurant ware. Sold to the finest restaurants and hotels in the United States. They also produced a retail line. The company  was closed in 1995. This piece is in excellent pre-owned condition   It measures approximately 3.5" tall and 2.5" in diameter.
