Vintage Men’s Alligator Loafers, mid 1960’s. Size 12 D. Hard to make out brand. They were my dads and likely very good quality. Really cool shoes.

singlechange any label or imprint on bottom of shoe saying Genuine Alligator? if not, shoe has imprint saying Alligator Grain, which is just leather printed with alligator design. thanks

austinshopper10 @singlechange I do not see any imprint, but it could be worn off, I don’t know for sure. The shoes are from the 1960’s.

singlechange it willsay Genuine Alligator right on the bottom of the shoes, right above where you see s 12 D imprinted. maybe you were told by your father it was alligator. If you have seen your other shoes of his imprinted Genuine Alligator, this shoe could be too Otherwise, from the patterns on the green shoes, it looks likely it is Alligator Grain. Most genuine alligator skins have the square or round scales which come from the very center back of an alligator. Your shoe patterns look artificial.
