Vintage Midcentury Set of Chalkware Nativity Scene Figurines INCOMPLETE 6" Scale

For sale is a Vintage Midcentury Set of Chalkware/Plaster Nativity Scene Figurines made in Italy in the 1950s to 1960s. The set is INCOMPLETE, as it is missing the Three Wise Men and possibly a shelter which may have originally housed the pieces. The four pieces included here for sale are Mary, Joseph, the Angel Gabriel, and Baby Jesus in the manger. The kneeling Mary and Joseph figurines are both approximately 4 inches tall, while the Angel Gabriel figurine stands 5 inches tall. The Baby Jesus figurine is approximately 1.75 inches tall. These measurements suggest that this set was most likely made to 6" scale. Each of the figurines show varying degrees of damage, as is common with old chalkware, but they are all in ACCEPTABLE to GOOD condition. All four figurines show small chips in places, especially at the bases and at the ends of the manger's posts. The Mary and Joseph figurines show evidence of their heads having been broken off and reattached with glue. The Angel Gabriel figurine shows a faint hairline crack fully encircling the lower part of the body (just below the wings) where it appears that it may have been broken cleanly in half and reattached with glue. However, the apparent repair was so well done that it is hardly noticeable except under close inspection. Items come from a smoke-free home.
