Vintage Mighty Mac “Utopian” Corduroy Coat needing restoration

I thrifted this in the 80s and wore it for many years. It shows in the button situation, sadly, and the coat requires some patching for its next life. Photos tell the story. Other wear points are one pocket lining, the elbows and the neckline — which I think are okay but have photographed for a closer look. Since I do not have anyone nearby who will use the coat, it sits, sadly. I have saved other items in this situation and know it can be done! Too special not to rescue. Read the labels … they are odes to pride in craftsmanship and quality and have value even as patches for upcycling. “Utopian” is big talk for corduroy! What a great coat!! If corduroy had royalty, this is it — lustrous. Lining unzips for multi-season use. It has a metal chain to hang it up from the days when metal chains were not a fashion statement.
