Vintage Missoni 1970's Wool Mohair Alpaca Knit Two Piece Skirt Sweater Set 44/8 This is an absolutely gorgeous Missoni full set from the '70s. It is so rare to find these sets still together. Made from a wool/nylon/mohair/alpaca blend in a purple blue and yellow. The top is a comfy fit with dropped shoulders and a boxy shape. The tailoring on this piece is absolutely beautiful with gusset inserts at the shoulder to keep the intended shape as well as a triangular insert at the front for contrasting pattern. The skirt is pull on style with an elastic waistband and kick vent in the back. This is an Italian size 44 which is about a US size 8. This is vintage sizing so it may be a little smaller than traditional 44. However, it is a very forgiving fit as the top is oversized and the bottom is elasticized at the waist. I am including measurements below. Please view them for best idea of fit. This is in very good vintage condition. There is some mild pilling throughout. The is a stretch gap right by the collar. It is hard to see as the yarn is pretty chunky. I have freshly hand soaked this item and line dried, arrives clean and ready to wear.
