Vintage ball is two-faced -- one side has an embossed duck face with beak sticking out; and on the opposite side, a kitty face with nose sticking out. Cream base color with blue, orange, pink and yellow. Slightly dirty, especially around the center seam. In VG vintage condition; and squeak still works! A tiny “Made in England” is embossed. (Freelance designer Edward Mobley created this for an England-based rubber company while also freelancing for Arrow in New Jersey, where he created something similar with ½ kitty “mittens” and ½ “woofie” the pup.) From early 1960s.
Size= 3” diameter
Note that the first rubber squeak toys were made about 1860, but the squeak toys found by collectors today were popular during the 1930s and later. By then, the rubber quality was better and could be painted without flaking.
