Vintage Modernist Geometric Goldtone Screw Back Earrings by "alice" 1950's

Elegant hexagon modernist design. Screw back style. Perfect for any occasion. Goldtone dangles with screw backs. They are in great Vintage condition. I don't see any wear and the screw backs work as they should. These are very Vintage and I would have a professional jeweler clean them as they are over 70 years old. They are signed by the artist "alice". Please read below to get the history because her pieces have been mistaken for another artist who did completely different styles and different materials. These really are vintage and they should be preserved for many generations to come. Reference: BR Drawer 5 The history of the Alice jewelry brand began in May 1950 in Rhode Island, owned by the Alice Jewelry Company of Providence. The company produced high quality fashion jewelry in modernist, geometric, or leaf designs. Sold at affordable prices, handcrafted in sterling silver and gold, most popular were screw back earrings or ear clips. Traditionally, the maker’s mark included “alice” in lowercase script letters, or “alice” and “PAT.PEND”. The company ceased to exist in the 1970s. Noteworthy, the Alice trademark is often confused with the better known Alice Caviness brand. However, these are completely different companies, and that’s easy to distinguish by labeling, design style and materials used. Caviness founded her eponymous company in 1940s in New York and branded her jewelry with her full name in block uppercase letters.
