What year is this? Can I get a picture of the inside of the ring?
amimac1
@nlafary I’m not sure the year of this one. I’d assume 90s. I’ll take a pic now and tag you when it’s uploaded 😘

Does this beautiful ting have a 925 or sterling mark? thx!❤
amimac1
@aliciavaroz it’s not marked but I sell jewelry for a living and it’s been acid tested and 925 Sterling ❤️
aliciavaroz
@amimac1 ok thx! 👌
amimac1
@aliciavaroz did you have to have it stamped? Are you looking for age? Just curious. I acid test all of my jewelry so I know the silver content ❤️
aliciavaroz
@amimac1 No I just wanted to make sure its sterling cuz I got an amazing ring but it wasn't marked and they didn't do an acid test and it turned my finger green 😑 So just checking! thx! Its a beautiful ring!❤

@aliciavaroz ohhh ok! A little jewelry history, not all Sterling jewelry is stamped “925” or “sterling.” I only deal with authentic Native pieces (as I’m native Choctaw myself) and there’s too much for me to type to fit in this box to explain exactly why (there’s a few reasons) but I’ll give you one...age! Stamping jewelry for silver content wasn’t made into a law until the 50s.
amimac1
@aliciavaroz Back in the day, Coin silver was also a higher content then 925 Sterling and used to make jewelry and to find a vintage piece made with old coin silver, you’d have a collectible on your hands.

@aliciavaroz But if you’re buying a cheap piece of jewelry from China they can stamp it 925 Sterling and it’s not Sterling at all. Or it can be Sterling plated and rub off over time (American made as well). If you’re buying a piece of jewelry thats $8-10 it’s more than likely not Sterling silver. Unless you find a seller on this app clearing the clutter 😂 I’ve been selling jewelry for so long I can visually tell.

Sterling silver is also going to tarnish, if not worn often so you can rub your finger on jewelry in person to see if tarnish comes off. There’s lots of little tricks. I only buy American made and stick to my native roots, but have a lot of years under my belt so I can tell fake/imposters from other countries, as well.

I always tell people, if you want a good jewelry to last a lifetime, you have to be willing to pay the price m. Otherwise it’s just considered fake costume jewelry. ❤️ hope that helps a little

@amimac1 thx! yes this piece was so lovely it was hard to imagine it wasn't sterling because it had turquoise and labrodite and metal worked leaves. And it wasn't magnetic but the seller didn't have a acid test. It was expensive still and I wish I could coat it w clear nail polish or something on the inside of the band? do u know any tricks? it's so pretty. Its in my closet if u wanna take a look. I'm a novice so I fell for its beauty but u may be able to tell right away. thx 🤗
