Flower power fabulous! In amazing vintage condition with very little signs of wear. Great gloss and color. Large four quart Cinderella style mixing bowl part of the Butterfly Gold collection that so many Pyrex collectors know and love. There is a small chip on one handle under half an inch, but it should not detract from the use of this great piece. Very small. Please review pictures carefully.

HISTORY:
In the early 1970s, artist John Phillip Johnson designed a set of bowls for Pyrex, to inject some new energy into the popular glass company. He called his design Butterfly Gold - a reference to both the imagery (butterflies and flowers) and the color (a pale shade of butternut squash). The unique shape for the mixing bowls was a break from the traditional round rim. John Phillip Johnson's bowls had pour spout handles that served two functions - an easy way to pick up the bowl and an even easier way to pour batter or other liquid items from the bowl. This new shape was called Cinderella - a magical nod towards the Disney character who was popular on stage and screen at the time. This pattern was made by Pyrex from 1972-1981 and came in nesting bowl sets of contrasting colors - two bowls in bright gold with white imagery and two bowls in white with gold imagery.
