Vintage Paperclip from Rhodes Greece Brass Deer Birds. 4" long and 1 1/2" wide, heavy paperclip constructed from brass. The design incorporates enamel to create the image of a deer on one side and two birds on the opposite side. The deer depicted is a Rhodes deer (Dama dama), a subspecies unique to the island of Rhodes, Greece. "RHODES" indicates its origin from the Greek island of Rhodes. Spring works easily to open and close the clip. Clamps tightly closed. Great clip for thick bundles. No chips to enamel. The piece shows signs of wear consistent with age.
