Vintage Persian Khatam Inlaid Frame Miniature Handpainted Micro Mosaic Marquetry

Offering here vintage preowned (1 of 2) a miniature painted Persian art featuring a Khātam marquetry frame. Khātam (Persian: خاتم) is an ancient Persian technique of inlaying. It is a version of marquetry where art forms are made by decorating the surface of wooden articles with delicate pieces of wood, bone + metal precisely-cut intricate geometric patterns. Designing of inlaid articles is a highly elaborate process. Likely this painting is on an abalone shell adds nice luster, character, and depth to the hand painted design featured. Mosaic front and sides of-the frame serves to support the beauty and the value of the art piece. Background appears likely a textured blue fabric or type of velvet. It is in nice condition with mild wear to its wood frame. Please view images. Rather primitive presentation in the back features a beveled fiberboard backing with hinged easel stand. This vintage framed artwork is sold as is, as shown. I did not open up and inspect, remove or clean any glass or artwork inside the frame, its been undisturbed since acquisition.
