This lovely piece is hand made and signed on bottom "Pigeon Forge Pottery Tenn". This design is from the 1960's thru early 1970's.
Pigeon Forge Pottery, founded by Douglas Ferguson in 1946 at the foothills of Tennessee's Great Smoky Mountains, produced hand crafted pieces for more than 50 years. The family-run pottery ceased operation in 2000 following Ferguson's passing. Each piece of Pigeon Forge Pottery was molded or thrown by hand from local red or gray clays, and finished with glazes made from native wood ash and mineral compounds, giving the pieces a unique quality and depth of color.
