Vintage Plastic Necklace with Gold Carved Beads

Unusual mid-century necklace made of gold plastic balls, carved with fine grooves, in graduated sizes. Separated by small silver beads. Screw clasp made of the same plastic. Strung on white cord. 16” long. Largest bead is 5/8ths inch in diameter. Unclear to me if it is Bakelite or some other plastic. Probably from the 1940s or 1950s. Pre-owned, sold as is.
