Vintage Porcelain Qilin Statue On Podium Ceramic Statue of the Miraculous

There are two minor chips on the bottom that are not visible when on the podium (See photos) and the velvet pad is coming up. This ancient Chinese Miraculous Qilin vibrant porcelain figurine is a beautiful piece. The Qilin, or Chinese Unicorn, was depicted in art and literature as a mythical beast that symbolizes good luck, prosperity, protection, strength, wisdom and power. It also symbolizes other positive qualities such as benevolence, gentleness and integrity. The intricate details and vibrant colors make this figurine a must-have for any lover of Chinese culture. The provenance of this figurine is that it was created by Angela Berrie for the employees of Russ Berrie when she took over the company after the death of her husband. This was a low run production that the CFO at the time told me was really expensive. The mold was destroyed and only a few hundred were produced. This comes with the original story of the Qilin given to the employees at the time. This figurine is perfect for collectors of Asian culture and history. Standing at 11.25 inches tall, this Qilin is 11 inches long and 4.25 inches wide. Weight is 2 lbs. 2.6 oz.
