Vintage Rare Royal Sealy Japan Lusterware Tea Cup & Reticulated Saucer 1940-50's The beautiful set is unusual because, instead of gold trim, it has silver trim. This is paired with the main design in the band that is an orangey-gold. The entire set is covered in iridescent luster glaze. A very unique set. Add to that the intricately-reticulated rim on the saucer and this is quite a show piece! Measurements: The cup is 2 1/2" tall from rim to base; the rim measures 4" across. The saucer is 6" across. Good condition: there is an overlap of the silver inner ring on the cup and the glaze is slightly rough in that area (see photo). No chips, cracks, or crazing. During the 1940's and 1950's, Royal Sealy was a Japanese company known for their tea sets that they made for export. They are highly collectable.
