A darling vintage Royal Copenhagen Figurine "Shepherd Boy Whittling a Stick" no.905. Features charming depiction of a young boy busy whittling away. EXCELLENT vintage condition... Looks brand new! Priced VERY fair, especially in its pristine condition. Finished in the company's signature shades of gray, blue & flesh tones. Stamped on the base with the company logo, three wavy lines, pattern #905, and the artist's initials are on the bottom of the backside. The figurine was first molded in 1908 by sculpture Christian Thomsen (1860-1921), who worked for Royal Copenhagen Company from 1898-1921. The Royal Copenhagen Manufactory was established in Denmark in about 1775 by Frantz Henrich Muller. When bankruptcy threatened in 1779, the Crown took charge.
