Henry Schreiner began production in 1932 of beautiful exclusively handmade jewelry. Known for their unusual color combinations, hand-made settings, and use of custom-made glass stones, Shreiner Jewelry is set apart from all other contemporaries. Hand-made in the US, in New York City, these one-of-a-kind earrings will be a fabulous addition to any jewelry collection. Since Schreiner jewelry was not mass produced, there are only a handful of each piece that was created.
I would like to thank Henry Schreiner's son for taking the time to educate me on this piece. As a fellow collector, you may notice that the clips on this pair of earrings are not the same as the standard "Donut Hole" clips that Schreiner became so well known for using in the 1960s. It has been verified that these clips predate their standard clips. Dating these earrings would mean they were created sometime between 1932 and 1960.
These earrings adorn a 7/8" red teardrop, clear marquise, one red inverted chaton rhinestone each, and a 3/4" clear teardrop -rhinestone on the top, with silver-tone settings; all rhinestones are prong set. The total length is 2.5" and 7/8" at the widest point. Besides the minor foil loss to the back of the clear teardrop rhinestones, this set is in excellent vintage condition. Pictures have been taken in different light to show how the stones look and reflect depending on different lighting.
