This carved cameo is a quality heirloom piece signed by the artist. Note the practiced hand, and how beautifully the piece is crafted. It's in very good vintage condition. The only flaw I could find were a couple of hairline surface cracks that aren't visible unless held to the light.
In my opinion, the Krementz pin setting isn't original to this cameo. While Krementz did make quality jewelry and cameos, I don't recall any of them being artist signed. Also, the shell isn't as large as the pin frame. It fits fine, isn't loose and can be worn as is. I could be wrong, but wanted to point that out. Overall though, still gorgeous!

This is a left facing cameo. Since it’s your piece, I was wondering if you knew whether or not it’s true that left facing cameos are worth more than right facing ones because there are more rare? The reason supposedly being that right facing cameos are upstanding women and left face and cameos are supposed to be those ofpromiscuous women. Have you heard this before?

@zeee13 The part where they are more rare is true. I'm a cameo collector myself, and the dealers who specialize in cameos have told me that. But I've never heard of that being the reason why! That's pretty interesting. I'll see if I can find more info on that aspect. What I understood was that it was merely unusual for an artist to choose left-facing.
