Vintage Silk Haori Kimono Jacket

Wearable Art at its finest: Vintage Silk Crepe Haori in Black. Features gorgeous, scalloped fans, hand-painted in Terracotta and a beautiful Pine Green, with fine Gold and Silver threads painted to delicately fall away from them. Very subtle silver paint has also been artfully applied, giving an almost mystical effect. This Haori can be worn in the traditional way, with the interior cords tied and the placket folded over and not belted in any way, or with the placket flat and tied around your waist, maybe with a slender belt or an Obijime, as shown. (Not included, it was just sold in a separate listing — more to come!) Unless you are very tall, a wide belt would likely look a bit weird, overpowering the simple elegance of the Haori. But I’m a purist. Looks wonderful worn open as well, as a jacket, over a velvet camisole for a dramatic look. I’ve styled it all of these ways. Upper part of interior is lined in white Silk. Measures 22.5” across from the back. Approximately 32” long from back of collar to hem. The silk fabric is not heavy and stiff, but lightweight. EUC. No Flaws! This one still has basting stitches intact. I price my Kimonos and Haori based on their condition. Almost all are pristine, and if there are issues I mention them 😉 .
