This is a vintage Japanese haori (kimono jacket) in a pink and white geometric shibori pattern. (Shibori is a popular form of textile art in Japan where textural patterns are created by minutely binding the fabric and masking off areas, then dying it by hand - when the bindings are removed, an undyed pattern is revealed.) Because of the shibori process, the pink shades from quite pale to a deeper almost-cranberry. The lining is soft cream silk in a pattern of pale yellow, peach, and tonal maple leaves. Kimono dimensions are: 32.5 inches long 25.5 inches from center back seam to cuff 18.5 inch long from top to bottom of sleeve 24 inches flat across chest The shape of a haori allows for generous sizing, and this one will be comfortable from an average US women's size Small to Extra-large - the fit will change, but the look will remain beautiful. Overall condition is excellent with no visible blemishes, but as this haori is true vintage, there may be subtle flaws I've missed commensurate with age - please enlarge and look closely at photos. Thia haori is truly stunning - it would make a beautiful display piece, gift, lightweight jacket, worn out to dinner with a t-shirt & jeans, dressed up or down, or even as a swimsuit cover-up!
