Vintage Silk and Embroidered Formal Skirt made from a Japanese Wedding Kimono

A vintage silk and heavily embroidered designed formal skirt. From our family estate, this was made for a family member from a Japanese wedding kimono. The chrysanthemum on it reflects that it was a kimono made for a member of the Japanese royalty. The waist size though is 26 inches so a very small skirt. This was made for somebody who was 5‘2“ tall. The skirt was too small to properly hang on my mannequin so I did lay it out so you could see the back closure. There is a tad of frame and some dirt at the hemline, which does not distract from the piece. Also, next to the zipper, there are two small brown spots which I did photograph.
