🇫🇷Vintage Souleiado Charles Demery quilted jacket

French Provençal jacket from the “Indiennes” fashion. Great lines, well tailored, très chic. Souleiado Charles Deméry fabric, “Fleur des Champs” pattern. Orange-red background, with subtle olive vines against; warm white and two shades of blue (royal and turquoise) in the larger figures. Exact vintage unknown, Charles Deméry was active 1950s—1970s. I purchased from vintage dealer c. 2000, very little wear since. Buttons are a trifle loose—appear to have original thread thus never have been reinforced—and some minor discoloration of lining fabric, but excellent vintage condition. Quilted cotton (tag near spare buttons reads “COTON”). Fully lined (synthetic). Two front patch pockets, 6 1/2” deep x 5 7/8” wide. One 7 1/4” vent center back. Four 3/4” covered buttons down front; two 1/2” covered buttons at each wrist (total 4); one spare of each size sewn into the lining. No size tag. Fit will vary with shoulders / bust, but best estimate is size S 4/6. Might fit larger size without fastening the buttons—as long as not especially broad shouldered or large busted. Approximate flat measurements: - 26” from center neck down to front hemline. - 15” straight across top shoulder from seam to seam. - 23 1/2” from top shoulder seam to wrist hem. - 16” across approximate center waist (between 2nd and 3rd buttons).
