Vintage Sterling Silver and Jasper Ring

A vintage sterling silver ring with an oblong brown stone which I think is Jasper (if not, please tell me what it is!). The ring features a sizer making it a size 6. Sterling mark on the back is worn but visible. Stone and setting measures .5” wide by .75” long. Excellent vintage condition.
