Vintage Straw and Cloth Jamaica Doll

Vintage 1960s handmade Jamaican souvenir doll, cloth Jamaican folk art doll, in traditional cultural ethnic dress of Jamaica. Hand-painted and hand-sewn, the doll is made from beautiful, mostly printed fabrics, and woven straw for the fruit basket she wears atop her head. Metal hoop earring adorn her ears. Her facial features are hand-painted. The doll measures about 14 inches from the top of the basket to the tips of toes. The waistband looks like it was handwritten in faint red ballpoint pen, "JAMAICA." The doll's limbs are moveable--partially rotatable--thus the doll is able to sit at a right angle--see photos. The doll is in excellent pre-owned, vintage condition--it must have been stored away for decades, as it shows little wear or fading. Really lovely.
