- Hand painted, wooden box, with a floral pattern on a black background, consistent with Toleware, and/or Tole painting
- Folk art design on three sides, with a hole at the top for hanging and a yellow, arched border
- Held together on all sides with little brad nails, which peek through paint
- Age and origin unknown, but I suspect this is a very old item, made in Pennsylvania, traditional with the Pennsylvania Dutch, which specifically painted on wood objects and furniture as opposed to tin
- Due to age, there is wear on the piece, especially on the corners where the paint has scraped off, in addition to nicks and scrapes, both inside and out, however, the box is still held together well considering its age
- Versatile piece for your home if you appreciate Americana, and great for corralling utensils, paint brushes, knitting needles, letters, paperback books, dried flowers, or other items
