Vintage UNCUS Sterling & Black Onyx Earrings

UNCUS sterling and black onyx earrings. Uncus, renowned American manufacturers of jewelry, were located in Providence, Rhode Island. The company, known by various names through the years, was founded by Vincent Sorrentino in 1911 and was in operation until the early 1960s. Since the earliest days, their logo has been an arrow through a "U." You will see that, along with their signature 'UNCUS STERLING', on these lovely little earrings. They are from the early 1950s and in their original state. Without being cleaned, they remain in excellent condition. Though small and understated, they are exquisite. For those familiar with UNCUS, their history and value will be recognized.
