Vintage Unmarked #8 Cast Iron Mystery Skillet - Potential Wagner/Griswold? Circa 1940-1950s
If you are looking for a skillet for an electric element stove or gas stove, this would be a great choice. This one is quite unique. It is extra thick and heavy and would be great for searing steaks. The cooking surface is smooth. Having a wobble this one would not be usable on a glass top range. Refurbished and reseasoned twice with flax oil.
Cast iron pans make great gift ideas for any occasion. Many memories are made of the great tasting food made in the old cast iron skillet by Moms and Grandmas. Skillets are pass from generation to generation.
This cast-iron skillet is unmarked, extremely thick and weighs in at 6 pounds. The size is not stamped on the skillet but the dimensions are consistent with a #8 skillet. The bottom of the handle where it meets the pan is flat like a Wagner or Griswold but the flat area is not consistent in size with their known handles. BSR skillets are known to be very heavy and thick casting, which this is but the handle doesn't match their design.
