Vintage Unsigned Haskell Brazilian, Penca de Balanganda inspired bracelet set

Jade and mother of pearl, brass, 7” unsigned but attributed to Miriam Haskell. Matching screw back earring with an approximate 2” drop. The Penca de Balangandan, was worn by Brazilian women on feast days and holy days. Said to be a religious object in Brazilian culture that represents the encounter between African and European cultures. Penca, meaning, bouquet and Balangandan, meaning, to recall the sound made by the objects, charms and baubles clinking together.
