Vintage Varsity Jacket by Butwin

A genuine varsity letter jacket by world famous Butwin Company. Circa 1954 this great period piece is in good condition overall with some wear and tear on the inside pockets. Probably from hiding cans of PBR from the fuzz! Size 40 but more like 38 men's. I estimate the age based upon research of the construction and layout. Almost identical to the jackets from Milan High School in Indiana who the famous basketball movie "Hoosiers" was based upon. No patches or insignias on the jacket but very similar in sleeves, cuffs and collar. Google Milan Miracle letter jacket 1954 State Champs for comparison. The originals sell for thousands. Nostalgia has incredible power with a vintage piece like this. The letterman varsity jacket is a celebration of youthful rebellion. It seems to occur with every generation and it’s interesting that for a solid half-century, the varsity jacket has found a following on and off the athletic fields.
