It is made of a silk and velvet. I am not exactly sure of the age. But it is most certainly older. It has a backing on it (one of the reasons to tell it’s older based on the material and construction). That has been hand stitched. There was a small rip at one point on the backside that someone hand stitched and repaired before I purchased this for myself. This scarf is so beyond beautiful. But I have never worn it and it’s just not fair to it. It has an incredible iridescent olive green coloring to it with the black.
