Vintage Wedgwood Jasperware 1980 Commemorative Christmas Mug featuring St James Palace
This beautiful cup of Wedgwood Jasperware contains a relief decoration of the St. James Palace. This is one of the oldest royal palaces in London. St. James's Palace was built for King Henry VIII and was the royal residence from 1691 to 1837. At the rear of this cup is a refined relief decoration bearing the inscription “Christmas 1980”. There is also an elegant decoration with holly branches on the handle and all around.
This collector's item is one of 15 Jasperware White on Blue Christmas cups, which were produced between 1971 and 1985. During that period, Wedgwood annually a cup in the context of Christmas. Every year a new London theme appeared.
