Vintage Whiting & Davis Mesh Bag

A great vintage Whiting Davis metal mesh purse with a fabulous celluloid frame. Looks a lot like Bakelite. The purse is from their line of 'Alumesh' -enameled aluminum mesh, aluminum was used for its durability and lightness. The links are domed to mimic beads, the aluminum is enameled in creamy white. The celluloid frame is awesome- the molded frame has a chunky knob snap closure, the celluloid handle is made from large oval double links. The inside is lined in dark purple-blue heavy grosgrain silk, it has a small slide pocket on the side. The Whiting Davis label is sewn into the seam of the slide pocket. Measures 8" across the very top of the frame, 11" across the bottom, and 6" long, the handle is 15" long. Condition is excellent, no damage
