Vintage Whiting and Davis Alumesh Purse w Cream Bakelite Closure Mesh Handle The Whiting and Davis brand is renowned for its exceptional quality and attention to detail, and this purse is no exception. The use of materials was very creative and must have made a big splash when these beauties hit the market. This piece stands out from others I've seen with a less common mesh handle. Condition: Good vintage condition with one known repair on one side near the handle where the fabric had started to pull away from the handle and it was sewn in place (shown in photo). If you are looking for it, you can see the stitching isn't an exact match on either side. There is also a little gap in the mesh near the handle that appears to be repairable with a few stitches. (shown in the photo). The tag is frayed. No other noticed damage. Normal wear for age. The lining appears good and very clean. There is some kind of layer between the lining and the mesh that crinkles like paper. Please see all photos. Measurements: 7.5" L x 8" W x 1" D
