Vintage Wooden Pinocchio Marionette Puppet Florence, Italy He is truly unique - found in Florence, Italy in an Antique shop with an expression that draws you in as his old blue/black eyes finely carved hat in an old blue and white strip and detailing in the carved out black hair. His wooden joints are secured with a pin and uniquely carved hands and green rounded wooden shoes. He is fitted with beautiful selected Italian attire in a pink and white square style shirt and light purple jumper secured with brown wooden buttons. He can easily be moved in different positions from standing tall to sitting quietly. He can be placed in different positions as his arms, legs and head move. His movements are controlled his arms and legs and up to the controller, known as an "airplane," a wooden cross-like structure that is held by the puppeteer, called a "manipulator". Marionettes first made their appearance in the 15th century as a form of poetic communication. Apprx 17 1/2" tall
