This thick high-quality raccoon collar with a satin backing dates back to my Lord & Taylor classic camel coat 50s or 60s, so it was used a lot back then, and afterward it has been stored a very long time. Presently attaches by three standard pin/studs - pin through the coat/jacket/sweater - (not sure what the fasteners are called). But a person could just use very small clamps, safety pins, or sew buttons and loops, instead. On one bottom end it is rubbed through a bit to the “leather/skin”, spot less than 1/2”, but as the photo demonstrates that “flaw” isn’t really visible in use. No labels or indications of origin of course. Measurement is tricky since it is curved and wide. It is definitely on the long spectrum. From one end fastener to the center fastener is 16” in a straight line rather than trying to measure a curve. Middle at the widest satin backing is 4”, fur coverage about 6”.
