This handmade dress from Indonesia was sold at an exclusive '80s pop-up trunk show hosted by a stylish, world-traveling gypsy importer in Chicago. The fabric is a wonderfully drapy mid-weight, tightly woven, durable linen. A unique garment, it has two real snake skins draped across the shoulders, one forest green and one rich chesnut. Deep set pockets are lined with a beautiful opposing color of lavender, which can elegantly slightly show at the pocket openings. Slits at the hem and a flattering slight "v" neckline. Photos 6,7, & 8 show the dress inside-out. Check out the expert hand stitching!
Worn only once, the garment is in like-new condition except for a slight amount of stress (one on each of the two snakeskins at the neckline join) -- see photos.
Can be worn as a straight-style caftan or midi shift (looks very '30's bohemian). Belted looks great.
There are no tags on this dress. It fits like a 10 - 12 US sizes.
