The HARGO Jewelry Company of New York made jewelry from the late 50’s to 1968. Although some Har pieces resemble jewelry by the Art jewelry company, Har also used certain stones in common with Florenza.
A very kind woman contacted me in early 2023 to say this: "The company was started and owned by my aunt Edith Levitt and Joseph Heilbrenner. It was named after Joe’s two children, Hans and Margo, and the company was called Hargo. Jimmy was their designer and every week Aunt Edie (Mother’s sister) would come over to give my sisters and myself new pieces for our dress up corner. Uncle Joe died in 1968, and no more jewelry was made after that."
