Vintage tall Italian riding boots with braiding

I bought these in Paris over 10 years ago. They are Italian though look like Frye boots. Will need new soles soon and are definitely broken in. I love them but they are just a bit too small for me. They are a size 40 but fit like a small 8. 13 in shaft. 13-14in calf circumference.
