Vtg 18” African American Girl Baby Doll Anatomically Correct Brown Eyes READ

This doll was purchased in an auction and therefore I know little about her previous life. When I got her, her clothing was dirty and has since been washed and her nightgown bleached. Her skin was very sticky and the residue on her clothing and diaper appeared to be from her skin which I believe may have come from her storage conditions perhaps in a warm attic? She had what appeared to be a gauze bandage around her waist with a gauze pad over her umbilical cord. This was removed as it was discolored from the same residue. I have since seen that gauze on other similar newborn dolls online so it may have come that way. The original diaper could not be washed as it is a real plastic Huggies diaper with sticky tape. I removed it carefully to clean the doll then reapplied. You will notice some discoloration on it as was also originally on the clothes. The other interesting thing with this doll is the cut on the back and the stitching of that cut. See pic. They did a good job and area remains intact. Perhaps they were a med student practicing on a doll? Who knows? The doll’s skin was cleaned and left to the air for a couple weeks. It is no longer sticky to touch. The nightie I believe, is original to the doll but the other clothing included is actual baby clothes 0-3months. There are no musty or smoky smells on this doll. She is very life like in size and appearance but only weighs 1.1kg (2.5lbs)
