Vintage (1999) Preston Leather Products navy blue belt with genuine leather and fabric. Souvenir belt from the 1999 Ryder Cup Golf Tournament (Battle of Brookline). The blue belt features The Country Club and Ryder Cup logos alternating around the length up to the leather belt ends. The buckle is stamped solid brass (gold color). Inside tag states, "Preston Leather Products, Made in New England, USA." Size marking is stamped 32, but should fit waist sizes 28.5" to 31.5" based on measurements. Width is 1.25". Condition is very good overall - no notable damage or signs of excessive wear beyond what is expected with a pre-owned item. This belt commemorates the 33rd Ryder Cup, also known as the Battle of Brookline, which was held 09/24-09/26, 1999, at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts. This tournament was an impressive "come from behind" victory for the American team. In addition, Payne Stewart was killed in a plane crash less than a month after the tournament, making it one of his last public appearances before his death.
