Vintage 60s Joseph Stein by Muriel Reade mid century modern modest 3/4 sleeve long sleeve cocktail day dress geometric print peter pan collar front zip with large pressed pleats. Gorgeous late 60s a line day dress with subtle red and blue thick horizontal stripes and geometric print all over. Fully lined. Features glamorous red and blue rhinestone buttons on wrists of sleeves. Best estimate is a modern size L but please see measurements PTP: approx 18” for a 36” bust Waist: approx 15” Length: just shy of 41” Sleeve: approx 21.5” Front zip and hook and eye closure make for a very modest neckline, zipper goes down about 1/3 of the dress. In great vintage condition, 2 minor runs in the fabric on the front - difficult to see due to pattern. Interior armpit areas are a bit discolored (has been delicately washed). Has ILGWU tag still attached “Muriel, a skilled coat designer from the Monarch Garment Company, was hired in 1967 when Joseph retired and his brother decided to change the business model to appeal to higher end retail stores, like Bergdorf Goodman, Lord & Taylor, and Bramson’s. Bramson’s was a premier women’s clothing store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago with high end contemporary designs.
