Vtg Collar Necklace

Very interesting vintage collar necklace. Don't know much about it, but from my googling online, it has qualities that seem like Egyptian Revival period? It's made of a metal, I'm thinking brass probably, and it has uneven stripes of black that looks as if it were painted on. Not sure why the lines aren't straight - I wondered if it was black permanent marker, but it didn't come off when I cleaned with alcohol, so I'm stumped lol. It also has floral accents on the metal between the black stripes. This necklace does have light surface scratches, which you can see in the pics, but it's still a beautiful piece to me! Someone knowledgeable in jewelry may be able to clean it or repair somehow. I'm listing it for a low price because of the cosmetic imperfections, but the necklace itself is fine :-)
