Vtg Guro Yaure Portrait Mask Tribal African Art Intricate Handcrafted 26" Long

Dimensions: approximately 26" long x 8" wide x 5" deep STUNNING! This vintage collectible horned Tribal African Guro Yaure or Baule portrait mask is handcarved, handpainted and intricate. It features two horns, scarification / tattoos on the face, a beard and possibly large earrings. The Guro of the Ivory-Coast (Côte d'Ivoire) are related to the Baule, and their handcrafted wooden masks bear similarities, including spiritual symbolism. Both tribes use these masks in rituals and ceremonies. Condition: very good vintage condition, with worn paint here and there and small splits in the wood in a couple of areas. It is striking!
