Vtg New York City Musical Snowglobe *ASO Sex and the City*

This is in great working pre-owned condition, a few minor scratches and scuffs here and there. The water has a slight yellow hue. See pictures, and video. This measures approx. 7" tall x 4.5" wide The outside has Iconic New York City scenes The statue of Liberty, Times Square, New York Stock Exchange, New York Central Park, Brooklyn bridge with the Twin Towers behind it, Rockefeller Center "Prometheus", Grand Central Terminal "Mercury". Inside the globe is the New York City Skyline with the Twin Towers before 9/11. This was made by The San Francisco Music Box company, it plays New York, New York, which is the theme song from the Martin Scorsese musical film New York, New York (1977). Liza Minnelli performs the song in the climax of the film. Two years later, Frank Sinatra covered the song, and it became closely identified with both him and New York City. Seen in Sex and the City (Season 4 episode 14), in Carrie Bradshaw's window. In the first scene, Carrie picks up a gorgeous New York snow globe – she shakes the globe up and looks into it wistfully, contemplating the decline of her relationship with boyfriend Aidan. The second scene is the closing one, again featuring the beautiful New York Snow Globe.
