Vtg Sterling Silver Mexican Filigree Floral Brooch, 1 1/2" Diameter; wt.- 8 grams This lovely Mexican Sterling Silver blossom brooch/pin has both open and closed wirework, giving texture to each petal. The brooch has depth and dimension from the three layers of blossom petals including five small delicate petals around the center three stamen. This brooch probably dates to the first half of the 20th century based on markings (Mexico Sterling), as post 1948 pieces include the eagle markings. The brooch has a nice, mellow patina to the silver. Reverse features a butterfly safety clasp in good working order with a straight pin. Bar is marked Mexico and Sterling. There are some scratching or etching zig zag marks on the center round on reverse, but I don't know if they were original to the piece or if someone did that later. Piece is in overall very good condition given its age and use. There are no observable breaks or missing pieces in the silver wirework. Please see photos as they are a part of the description.
