Vtg Rare Banana Bob Ox Gold Aurum Choker Necklace

Vintage rare sample necklace by Banana Bob, this is an elegant and simple necklace consisting of a ox gold mesh band with a center motif with an elegantly set aurum crystal in gold in the center, this stone has a crystal set within the center. The embossed ox gold round finding is set with multiple crystals. the necklace measures 12" in length for the mesh part and then there is a 4" faceted crystal extension making it adjustable up to 16". Mint condition new and unused sample. approximately 1" high. Made in the 1980s and 1990s, designed by former figure skater Annie Venditti, Banana Bob jewelry is famous for the intricate components and detailed layered designs. All of the jewelry was handmade, including setting rhinestones, hand enameled and soldering metal layers, the process was very labor intensive. Banana Bob, jewelry designs are often themed and elaborate, designs are often asymmetrical .All jewelry was made from very fine elements such as Swarovski crystal rhinestones and US made brass findings as well as vintage findings.. Banana Bob went out of business in the 1990’s, the jewelry remains very popular among collectors .
