A little about Willis & Geiger - In 1931, the first military-issued Willis & Geiger flight uniform was the US Army Air Corps A-2 type leather summer open cockpit flight jacket. Due to its excellent function and design, it received the most support from astronauts among the flight suits provided until then. The A-2 jacket is made of the same dark brown horseskin or goat leather as when it was first manufactured, with a continuous back and attached sleeves. The cuffs and waistband are brown wool unidirectional ribbed knit. Government-issued brass button-downs and collar snaps that prevent the collar from flapping in the wind convey the atmosphere of the time.
