Walborg Italy Silver Hardshell Clutch/Optional Shoulder Bag This is a truly gorgeous vintage Walborg Italy hardshell shoulder bag in a bright, shiny, silver tone metal with a croco pattern. Length: 7" Height: 4.5" Depth: 2" Shoulder Strap Drop: 16" The bag is a beautiful, bright, shiny silver color and the metal chain is also silver tone. The length of the chain makes it suitable to be worn as a shoulder bag. You can also actually tuck the chain into the bag and use it as a clutch. The bag closes via a very strong hinged spring closure and is very secure when shut. The bag is in great vintage condition. The exterior has some very minor tarnishing around the edges. The interior is a grey, velvet-like material and has a small stain. ( See pictures #4 & #5) Walborg was a company founded by Hilde Weinberg in New York City in the late 1940s. She originally worked as a vice president for a cosmetics manufacturing firm and resigned in 1949 to study the handbag business for eighteen months before establishing her company. Walborg Corp. continued under her ownership until 1971.
