Beautiful, midcentury Wedgwood Harvard University transferware china dish made in England labeled "North East View of Harvard College (North Part). Alvan Fisher, 1823." This dinner plate is cream with a crimson/red/pink design featuring a historical 1823 drawing of the Harvard College campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The border features flowers, fruit and other details. The imprint on the back indicates this commemorative souvenir plate was made in 1955. This pattern is very hard to find.
Details:
-Earthenware
-10 3/8" diameter
-Marked Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston Made in England
-Plate stand not included
This plate is in great vintage condition with light wear. It looks lovely for use or display. There are no chips, cracks or crazing. Utensil marks are visible under direct light (see third-to-last photo for example). There are a handful of tiny "flea bites" or minuscule nicks/imperfections. The back has some light scuffs or wear to the finish that are visible under direct light, as well as a tiny blue dot (see last two photos).
This will be packed with care and shipped promptly. Please check out my closet for additional Wedgwood Harvard plates from the same era. I am able to offer two in the same order if you are interested in bundling.
