@dazedlily - the back of the waist is elastic, but the front is not. I have a 34" bust and wouldn't say it's snug as in supportive without a bra. The top two buttons do unbutton and with my breast size the fabric does seem a bit snug that the fabric between buttons is pulling slightly, so not quite enough room/fabric for me. And for reference, I'm 5'3" and the bottom of the dress hits just below the knee.
